We have a great variety of rituals and ceremonies lined up for you to enjoy at our summer celebration and everyone is invited to take part (although a few will be adult only.)
Full-gathering ceremonies to connect us to the land and to each other….
Evening Opening Ceremony, 8pm
meet. greet. connect….
grounding. arriving. anticipating...
Meet at the ceremonial fire then move to marquee - includes introductions from some of facilitators and useful information to help you get the most from our time together.
The Opening in the Marquee will be followed by a ceremony at the Ancestor Wall in the Village Hall. You are invited to bring photos and memorials to add to the Wall. where we can honour personal and collective ancestry, our icons and inspirations.
Next will be the Opening Ceremony at the Sacred Sexuality Temple (18 and above.)
Full Moon Ceremony, 10am
The whole festival gathering together to connect with the energy of the Full Moon as it reaches its peak moment.
Come as an air, water, fire or earth spirit – it’s your choice which and how you want to represent that. We will honour the elements, both in nature and within us, and unite them through drumming and dance.
Lughnasadh Fire Ritual, 2pm
Lughnasadh is an ancient festival celebrating the harvest. Our ritual theme is sacrifice and transformation: starting gently, taking time to focus on what we are releasing from our lives, we will then leap into the volcanic cauldron where the fires transform us.
Let the drumbeats lift you into passion and wild ecstasy. We invite you to dress in golds, reds and orange. Dance for yourself and Dance for All.
Closing Ceremony, 2pm
We will wind down the magic gently on Sunday after lunch, thank the spirits, close the gates and ground the energies to be ready for safe journeys back to the outside world.
Other rituals include:
Drawing down the moon - A Pagan Ritual in which we can connect our personal energy to that of the Moon, this will be a reflective space at the ceremonial fire at night.
Trance dance (18 and above) - Dance with the Spirits of the Land. Facilitated by Lou Hart of Queer Pagan Camp. With practice sessions in days leading up to the dance for any who wish to drum for the ritual.
Earth medicine ceremonies with Justin Luria
Native American pipe ceremonies with Mountaine Jonas, a trained pipe carrier in the Shoshone-Bannock tradition
Firewalk with Maz and Eva from Ignite your life
Sensational Earth and Sex magic tree ritual at the Sacred sexuality temple
Daily facilitated mindfulness and loving-kindness sessions in the Meditation temple
The Travelling Temple Tent for songs and celebration, pujas and prayers and stories and teachings from The Shiva Mahapuran
And of course you can simply lap up nature at queer spirit festival - The Festival setting is a beautiful, gentle piece of magical countryside.
There is a vast array of activities, ceremonies, workshops and play spaces on offer….. But there will also be lots and lots of luscious green open space to enjoy; Beautiful trees to meet; Walks in nature; Bird song filling the air; Space to Stretch and Breathe; Peace. And a few hundred fabulous spiritually inclined queers to meet.
Being there for 5 days will give everyone who comes lots of time to commune with the trees, chill with the breeze, hang out with the wildlife and, hopefully, enjoy plenty of sunshine, time to sit under the stars, chat round fires, play under the full moon light and make new friends….
Treat yourself and invite your friends to 5 days of queer heaven in nature this August and you may discover things about yourself, and the queer tribes, that you never had imagined……
