Spiritual activist and builder of queer conscious community, Shokti had a dramatic awakening to spirit in the mid 90s while facing death from AIDS. He writes (shokti.wordpress.com) about HIV as a wake up call to face our mortality and know ourselves on a soul level. He describes AIDS as Accelerated Individual Discovery of Self. His transition from gay caterpillar (enjoying the good things in life without much thought) through AIDS chrysalis to spiritually awake butterfly revealed to him the multidimensional nature of the soul, an awareness he now seeks to share with others through gatherings, rituals, drum circles and as one of the original organisers of LoveSpirit.
His passion is to bring together queer folk who are exploring and enjoying the fruits of inner work, of self-exploration in order to inject consciousness and light into the LGBT+ communities, helping us to find our roles in the human family and bringing the journey of gay liberation, that has made such great progress on the social and political levels, all the way home to the the spiritual dimension of who we are.
