WORKSHOPS
Religious Detox: Opening to Spirit - with Interfaith Ministers Philip Maultby, Rebecca D'Arcy, Drue Nottage & Richard Nichols
We offer a workshop with a primary focus on individual story telling. This is a safe space for those LGBT people who have found themselves rejected by the homophobia of their organised religion, including those deeply wounded to tell their stories, to detox and find agreement with others who have trodden similar paths.
The session will include an initial ‘guided reflection as an LGBT person’ followed by opportunity for each to share their story without any interruption. The conclusion will be a time for assisting each one to connect with their inner longing, for a connection with their truth, with others and the associated joy and celebration. We will use appropriate music and symbols as fitting.
Our approach is to meet people ‘where they are’ and create a safe and non- threatening atmosphere where each may feel totally accepted and received into the Spirit of all Life. The OneSpirit interfaith Foundation is not a religion and there is nothing that anyone is asked to join. We will be open to provide ongoing support and individual counselling if required.
OneSpirit Interfaith SeminaryWe are all either ordained or to be ordained ministers of the OneSpirit Interfaith Seminary. This means that as open-hearted people we have chosen to explore our spirituality beyond religion. We acknowledge and align with the universal truth at the heart of all spiritual traditions. The course we have followed provides for personal growth, healing and clarification of our individual spiritual paths and acceptance of all life paths.
In addition we are trained in spiritual counselling and in conducting ceremonies such as Civil Partnerships and funerals for people from all faiths or none. Each of us has experience in facilitating events, ceremonies and workshops around the themes of personal and spiritual growth.
