Tools to work with the elements - with Paul Woodland
The focus of the workshop will be the four traditional elements of Air, Fire, Water, Earth. The workshop will aim to provide people with some practical tools to enable them to begin to work with the elements or to enhance their existing relationship...
...The approach will be grounded in the lived reality of the individual and will emphasise a non-gendered style of working. Although the format and context for the workshop will be that of paganism, the concept of the four elements is used in a wide variety of other practises.
The workshop will be pitched to be accessible to anyone who works with the concept regardless of their path. It will consist of an introductory discussion, some focussed energy work and a guided pathworking.
Paul Woodland
I have been a practising queer pagan for around 18 years. I received a structured training in the craft and have passed this training on in small groups on three occasions. I have acted as a priest to hold and facilitate many rituals for seasonal festivals, lunar celebrations and focussed magic, including around half a dozen that were open to the public in the form of hand-fastings, funerals and transition rituals. I have also given public talks on queer paganism on three occasions.
Additionally I have been involved with Queer Pagan Camp since it started in 1998 and during this time I've offered a large number of workshops and discussions ranging from 'What is Queer Paganism?', 'Enlightenment through Lipstick', a series of different approaches to working with the four traditional pagan elements and techniques of grounded awareness, I have also contributed to creating many of the shared rituals that take place there.
